01 - The Problem
Every stream, ticket scan, follow, and share creates fan data. The artist rarely gets the full record.
Each platform keeps its own fragment behind a separate login, format, and export policy. Artists create the relationship but cannot see or move its full history.
The artist should control that record.
02 - What We Believe
Fan data is the connective tissue of the artist-fan relationship. It should travel with the artist, not the platform.
A follow on one platform and a ticket purchase on another can come from the same person. Those records should meet in one place the artist controls.
Belief I
Identity is the foundation of trust
Before data moves, the protocol must verify the artist. That identity should work across participating platforms and should not depend on one account or handle.

Interoperability is not optional
DDEX created shared formats for music-rights data. ADAPT applies the same idea to fan data: one protocol and one shared agreement.
Belief III
Portability is power
An artist who can take their fan relationships anywhere is an artist who can negotiate from strength. Data portability is career independence.
Belief IV
Infrastructure should be neutral
ADAPT publishes the connection standard. It does not sell a competing streaming, ticketing, commerce, or social platform.
03 - The Status Quo
Platforms built walled gardens because lock-in was profitable. ADAPT specifies how artist-authorized data can move between them.
Each platform built its own data model and access rules. Artists and managers now have to reconcile the same fan relationship across separate systems.
ADAPT is not another destination. It is a shared standard that platforms can adopt and artists can take with them.

Your fans found you. That relationship is yours. We're just here to make sure nothing gets lost in translation when it crosses from one platform to the next.

Join the protocol. Integrate once, use one agreement, and return cleaner records to the artists you serve.
To the industry
Use one shared standard. Each company can integrate once instead of negotiating a separate data agreement for every partner.

We're not building another app. We're writing shared rules for artist fan data.
ADAPT is a nonprofit trade association governed by its members. It maintains the standard so platforms do not need one-off data partnerships and artists can keep a portable record of fan support.
The data belongs to the artist. The protocol puts that rule into practice.
